Chicken Fried Rice Recipe

Fried rice is very popular in South Asia and there are many different varieties of fried rice dishes like Vegetable fried rice, Egg fried rice, Chicken fried rice, Mixed fried rice, etc; with a little variation in the ingredients used for cooking them. Since fried rice has a unique taste and is less time-consuming to cook, it has gained popularity all over the world.

Chicken fried rice is a dish made by stir-frying the cooked rice with added vegetables, eggs, and chicken. It is rich in carbohydrates, proteins, and fiber.

  1. Cook the rice with a little salt, and keep it aside for cooling.

  3. Cut the chicken into 1-inch cubes. Wash, drain, and marinate chicken with 1.5 teaspoon soya sauce, 1.5 teaspoon cornflour, 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste+1/4 teaspoon salt. Keep aside for 5-10 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile, heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan, and fry the eggs on medium flame with a little salt and black pepper powder. When the eggs are half cooked scramble them into small pieces. Keep aside.

  5. Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a cooking pot or frying pan and stir fry the marinated chicken. Cover and cook for 3 minutes on low flame. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it and keep it aside.

Recipe Notes
  1. Any leftover rice can also be used to make this recipe. Whether you use leftover rice or freshly cooked rice, the rice must be at room temperature or chilled. 
  2. You can also whisk the eggs beforehand and then fry, scramble them; instead of frying them directly like shown.
  3. Any other vegetable of your choices like peas and capsicum can also be added for making this fried rice.
  4. The same recipe can be followed for making egg fried rice, just skip the chicken part.
