Palak chicken is a juicy delicious blend of Spinach, onion and chicken. This fulfilling dish can be eaten with plain rice or roti or chapati, making a sumptious meal.
Palak chicken is rich in iron, proteins and vitamins.
The juices of tender cooked chicken and palak with added seasoning make this dish quite flavorful.
Simple Palak Chicken / Spinach chicken curry- Hyderabadi
Wash and marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and red chilli powder. Keep aside.
Heat oil in a vessel and saute the onions untill translucent. Add the chicken and saute on high flame for 2 minutes.
Cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes on low flame. This allows the onions to get soft.
Add the washed and chopped spinach to the chicken and onion gravy, mix well. Then cover and cook for 15 minutes.
Open the lid and give a final mix. That's it. Serve hot.
- Preferably use chicken with bones to get a more juicy and flavorful gravy.
- Adding water to the gravy is optional but not suggested, as the moisture from chicken and spinach will be quite enough to form a nice stewy gravy.
